Job summary

Balfour Beatty US is seeking a Safety Health and Environmental Manager to implement the company’s safety and loss prevention programs on one or more job sites in the Chantilly, VA area. The role ensures training for on-site personnel and subcontractors in all safety programs and regulatory requirements to prevent incidents.

Required qualifications include a BS in Safety & Environmental Health or Construction Management/Engineering, OSHA 30, CHST, 4+ years in safety with 5+ years in commercial

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Safety & Environmental Health or Construction Management/Engineering Degree.
• 4 years of safety experience with safety duties and preventative focus.
• 5 years or more of commercial construction safety experience.
• 2 years or more of supervisory experience.
• OSHA 30 required.
• CHST Certification.
• U.S. Citizenship is required due to federal contract requirements.
• Proficient with PC and Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Conduct jobsite visits and safety audits as project dictates.
• Prepare and review safety plans, PTPS, JHAs, AHAs and safety submittals.
• Support project team and subcontractors in daily meetings and safety briefings.
• Maintain SDS records and provide on-site access to safety information.
• Oversee safety training, recordkeeping and first aid certification for personnel.
• Manage site safety records and drug testing program.
