Job summary

Leoforce is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our construction-focused finance team. You will manage the general ledger, perform month-end close, and produce GAAP-compliant financial statements and schedules.

You will monitor project costs, WIP, and contract accounting while supporting cash flow and collaborating with project managers and auditors. The role emphasizes accuracy, strong accounting controls, and cross-functional partnership with operations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including construction industry exposure.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Proficiency with GAAP and construction accounting practices.
• Experience with job costing, work-in-progress reporting, and contract revenue recognition.
• Strong general ledger, reconciliations, and month/year-end close skills.
• Proficiency with ERP systems and MS Excel.
• CPA or progress toward certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage general ledger activities, journal entries, reconciliations, and close processes.
• Prepare GAAP-based financial statements and supporting schedules.
• Monitor construction costs, budgets, commitments, and profitability; report variances.
• Maintain WIP schedules and contract accounting per standards.
• Review job cost allocations, subcontractor costs, and project billings for accuracy.
• Support cash flow forecasting; review AR/AP for risks and working capital.
• Coordinate with external auditors and tax professionals with documentation.
• Strengthen internal controls and streamline reporting.
• Collaborate with operations and project teams to resolve issues and provide insights.
• Provide guidance to accounting team and promote consistent practices.
