SCOPE: Uniform Security Officers are responsible for protecting the construction site’s building, equipment, grounds, assets, employees, and visitors against criminal activity, vandalism, accidents, and fires, as well as providing outstanding customer service. For these assignments, our Uniform Security Officers will utilize their personal vehicles as a workspace, and will utilize their personal cell phones as a means to report on and off duty for each work shift.

SCHEDULE:
  • Part time 2nd shift (7 am - 5:30 pm): Various days including weekends
COMPENSATION:
  • Rate of Pay: $17.43/hour
  • Benefits: group accident, critical illness, hospital indemnity, identity theft protection, and Paid Medical Leave (eligibility requirements apply).
LOCATION: Livonia, MI

JOB DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Must provide excellent customer service when dealing with Clients, Customers, Co-Workers, etc.
  • Guard posts – this may include outdoor positions, building lobbies or reception areas.
  • Will utilize your personal cell phone to make hourly wellness phone calls into the DK Command Center during the overnight shifts.
  • Conduct hourly foot patrol of interior and exterior to check entrances, doors, windows and vents are locked and secure against break-ins; and take inventory of the equipment on-site.
  • Ensure unauthorized persons do not enter restricted areas.
  • Check for employee and vendor identifications.
  • Look for suspicious persons, packages and activities.
  • Must follow site specific post guidelines; including but not limited to:
  • Will report potentially hazardous conditions and items in need of repair including lighting, plumbing, wet floors, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must have a reliable vehicle and willingness to travel to multiple locations.
  • Must have a working cell phone and ability to make hourly wellness calls.
  • Must be at least 18 years old and have at least a high school diploma or equivalent education certification, such as a GED, per MCL 338.1067 §17(2).
  • Must be able to pass a drug screening at the time of hire and randomly thereafter (including for marijuana). Since our company contracts with the federal government, we must comply to federal laws regarding the use of marijuana, regardless of whether it is used recreationally or medicinally.
  • Must not have been convicted of any felonies, per MCL 338.1060 §10(1)(c).
  • Must not have been convicted of any misdemeanors related to dishonesty, fraud, impersonation of law enforcement, assault, weapons, unauthorized sale of information or evidence, controlled substances (including for marijuana), or two or more alcohol related offenses, per MCL 338.1060 §10(1)(c).
  • Must be able to sit, stand, and walk, including up and down stairs, for 8-12 hours at a time.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be readily able to respond to emergency situations.
  • Must be able to see clearly at least 20 feet away (assisted with glasses or contact lenses if necessary).
  • Must be able to hear conversations in loud environments either in-person or via radio.
  • Must be able to use a smart mobile phone or computer to check emails and complete online training.
  • Must be able to fluently read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Must be professional and possess excellent customer service skills.
  • Must have excellent personal integrity and a positive attitude.
  • Must complete required trainings on time and adhere to all client and company policies.
  • Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.
