Job summary

Rueter’s Equipment is seeking an enthusiastic Outside Sales Representative to drive construction equipment sales across Council Bluffs and Omaha markets. You will spend most of your time in the field, building relationships, prospecting new accounts, and helping customers select the right equipment solutions for their businesses.

You will grow with a team in a family-owned company offering a competitive base plus uncapped commission, and benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of proven outside sales experience (construction/equipment preferred).
• Strong understanding of construction equipment and jobsite needs a plus.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
• Self-starter who thrives in a competitive, fast-paced sales environment.
• Proficiency with CRM and basic computer tools (MS Office/Google).
• Valid driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

• Prospect, develop, and grow new business opportunities with contractors and construction firms.
• Build strong, long-term relationships with customers in the Council Bluffs/Omaha region.
• Meet or exceed sales targets by promoting new and used construction equipment.
• Stay responsive to customer needs, including after-hours inquiries when required.
• Maintain accurate customer records and activities in the CRM system.

The Role

We are seeking an ambitious Outside Sales Representative to drive construction equipment sales across the Council Bluffs and Omaha markets. In this role, you’ll spend the majority of your time in the field—building relationships, prospecting new accounts, and helping customers find the right equipment solutions for their businesses.

What You’ll Do

• Prospect, develop, and grow new business opportunities with contractors and construction firms.
• Build strong, long-term relationships with customers in the Council Bluffs/Omaha region.

Work Environment & Travel

• Primarily field-based role (80–90% of time spent on the road in the territory)
• Regular local day travel, with occasional overnight trips
• Exposure to outdoor conditions and active jobsites expected
