This position reports to

Area Sales Manager

Your role and responsibilities

As a Construction Sales Engineer, you will be responsible for the sales of ABB's Electrification products within the Columbus, OH, and surrounding areas, aligning with the division strategy. Your daily tasks will include achieving sales targets to ensure sustainable growth, revenues, profitability, market share, and customer satisfaction. You will identify and develop new sales opportunities. This is a remote position; successful candidates should be located in Ohio or Indiana. You will contribute to the Electrification Smart Buildings division in the United States and be mainly accountable for:

  1. Selling products, systems, and services to customers, focusing on volume, mix, and profitability targets for assigned divisions. Building and maintaining effective customer relationships to understand needs and promote solutions.
  2. Creating value for customers and ABB, ensuring successful transactions through effective sales techniques.
  3. Communicating details in line with ABB offerings and strategy, including delivery times, payments, and terms.
  4. Preparing offers in coordination with the bid and proposal department and/or marketing, ensuring technical and financial aspects are aligned, including pricing and trading conditions.
Qualifications for the role
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or related field, with at least 5 years of sales experience in large commercial construction and industrial projects, preferably in electrical products.
  • Experience working with electrical contractors and channel partners.
  • Knowledge of the regional electrical industry and ABB products is preferred.
  • Ability to use analytical software and sales tools; Salesforce.com experience is preferred.
  • Understanding of Six Sigma principles to enhance customer satisfaction; Six Sigma or similar training is a plus.
  • Experience with full portfolio of products and services, including power distribution and installation products, is preferred.
