Area Sales Manager

Your Role and Responsibilities

As a Construction Sales Engineer, you will be responsible for selling ABB's Electrification products within Columbus, OH, and surrounding areas, aligning with the division strategy. Your daily activities will include achieving sales targets to ensure sustainable growth, revenue, profitability, market share, and customer satisfaction. You will identify and develop new sales opportunities.

This is a remote position; successful candidates should be located in Ohio or Indiana. You will contribute to the Electrification Smart Buildings division in the US.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Selling products/systems/services to meet volume, mix, and profitability targets, establishing and maintaining effective customer relationships to understand needs and promote ABB's offerings.
  2. Creating value for customers and ABB, ensuring successful transactions using effective sales techniques.
  3. Communicating details in line with ABB's offerings and strategies, including delivery times, payments, and terms.
  4. Preparing offers in coordination with the bid and proposal department and/or Marketing Manager, ensuring technical and financial accuracy.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or related field, with at least 5 years of sales experience in large commercial construction and industrial projects, preferably in electrical products.
  • Experience working with electrical contractors and channel partners.
  • Knowledge of the electrical industry and ABB products in the region is preferred.
  • Proficiency with analytical software and sales tools; Salesforce.com experience is a plus.
  • Understanding of Six Sigma or similar quality methodologies is advantageous.
  • Experience with full product portfolios, including power distribution and installation products, is preferred.
