Construction Sales Engineer

Position Overview

This position reports to the Area Sales Manager.

Your Role and Responsibilities

As a Construction Sales Engineer, you will be responsible for selling ABB's Electrification products within Columbus, OH, and surrounding areas, aligned with division strategies. Your daily activities will include achieving sales targets to ensure sustainable growth, revenues, profitability, market share, and customer satisfaction. You will also identify and develop new sales opportunities.

This is a remote position; successful candidates should be located in Ohio or Indiana. The role supports the Electrification Smart Buildings division in the United States.

Main Accountabilities
  • Selling products, systems, and services to meet volume, mix, and profitability targets. Establishing and maintaining effective customer relationships to understand needs and promote ABB’s full offerings.
  • Creating value for customers and ABB, ensuring successful transactions, contracts, and proposals using effective sales techniques.
  • Communicating details in accordance with ABB’s offerings and strategies, including delivery timelines, payments, and terms.
  • Preparing offers in coordination with the bid/proposal team and marketing, ensuring technical and financial aspects are appropriately addressed.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or related field, with at least 5 years of sales experience in large commercial construction and industrial projects, preferably in electrical products.
  • Experience working with electrical contractors and channel partners.
  • Knowledge of the electrical industry and ABB products in the region is preferred.
  • Ability to utilize sales tools and analytical software; Salesforce.com experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma or similar quality improvement methodologies is desirable.
  • Understanding of the full product portfolio, including power distribution and installation products, is preferred.
