Job summary

JE Dunn Construction Company is seeking a Safety Specialist for the Advanced Facilities Group (AFG). This role coordinates and implements field safety programs on routine construction projects, and conducts site inspections to ensure compliance with laws and company policies.

Ideal candidates will have 0–2 years of construction-related experience, a Bachelor’s degree in safety/health, strong MS Office skills, and the ability to build relationships within a team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a safety and health-related field preferred or equivalent experience.
• 0–2 years construction or related experience required.
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written, are essential.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and implements the field safety program for routine construction projects.
• Conducts safety walk-through inspections to ensure compliance with laws and policies.
• Performs safety audits and documents abatement of hazards for clients and teams.
• Oversees new hire orientation and drug/alcohol policy compliance.
• Monitors subcontractors’ safety programs and participates in project safety meetings.
• Investigates accidents and recommends corrective changes to prevent recurrence.
