Garney is hiring a Safety Specialist to support jobsite safety programs, promote safety culture, and ensure OSHA compliance across projects in Tracy, CA. The role involves training, hazard identification, and proactive incident prevention while serving as a field safety resource for employees and leadership.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED (associate in Occupational Health & Safety preferred), 2+ years of construction experience and 1+ year in safety, with OSHA certifications

Qualifications

• 2+ years of construction experience and 1+ year in a safety role (3+ years preferred).
• Working knowledge of OSHA 1926 standards and construction safety practices.
• OSHA 30, 500, EM385, CHST or equivalent; CPR/First Aid Trainer; OSHA 510 (within 6 months) - Required.
• OSHA 500, CHST, or other relevant safety certifications - Preferred.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish - Preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform jobsite safety inspections and audits to identify hazards and ensure compliance.
• Track and follow up on corrective actions to support incident prevention.
• Assist in developing safe work plans, task hazard analyses, and site-specific procedures.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA standards and company safety programs.
• Deliver toolbox talks, safety briefings, and training to field teams.
• Serve as a safety resource for employees and project leadership.
• Promote a strong safety culture through engagement and accountability.
