Job summary

Granite Construction Incorporated seeks a Safety & Health Manager to administer the Safety and Health Management System for a specific location. You will partner with internal teams, owners, and facilities to maintain safe operations and regulatory compliance.

You will lead inspections, training, and hazard analysis, while coordinating corrective actions. A CSP/CHST/CMSP certification is preferred, with a minimum of three years in a safety role within construction or related industries.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Safety, Occupational Health or related field preferred
• Minimum 3 years of experience in construction or applicable industry with safety-related responsibilities required
• Certified Safety Professional (CSP), CHST or CMSP preferred
• Knowledge of state and federal safety and health regulations
• Excellent verbal and written communication, strong organization and time management

Responsibilities

• Partner with team members and stakeholders to ensure effective relationships.
• Administer and manage compliance with Safety and Health Management System and incident prevention efforts.
• Advise changes to work procedures to ensure employee and public safety.
• Perform inspections, observations and audits to reduce incidents.
• Conduct training and regulatory compliance initiatives for Safety Management Systems.
• Coordinate meetings and training programs to communicate safety expectations.
• Participate in regulatory inspections to ensure compliance and protect company interests.
• Develop and review job hazard analyses to identify hazards and controls.
• Investigate near misses and incidents to protect company interests.
• Monitor plans and corrective actions, ensuring timely documentation.
