Job summary

Granite Construction is seeking a Safety Administrator to support the company’s Safety and Health Management System (SHMS) at an assigned location. The role ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and promotes a proactive safety culture among employees.

Required is a Bachelor’s in Safety or related field with a minimum of 3 years in construction safety. The position includes traveling and a strong emphasis on communication, documentation, and adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Occupational Health or related field preferred.
• Minimum 3+ years’ experience in construction or safety-related role.
• Knowledge of state and federal safety and health regulations.
• Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work in high production environment and respond swiftly.

Responsibilities

• Support administration of SHMS and related safety regulations for a location.
• Promote engagement in safety programs and incident prevention efforts.
• Assist in implementing safety programs to meet strategic goals.
• Perform inspections, observations and audits to reduce incidents.
• Prepare and conduct safety meetings and training programs.
• Participate in regulatory inspections and investigations.
• Develop and review job hazard analyses with hazard controls.
• Investigate near misses, incidents and claims to protect company interests.
• Ensure corrective actions are tracked and documented timely.
