Job summary

Hensel Phelps is seeking a Safety Manager to support senior safety leadership and project teams on a construction project. The role involves managing safety and health processes, with a focus on building a strong safety culture and ensuring compliance on site.

The ideal candidate has a 4-year degree preferred, CHST recommended, and at least 3 years of safety experience in commercial construction. A valid driver's license and strong communication skills are required.

Qualifications

• A 4-year degree is preferred.
• Occupational Safety and Health degree suggested.
• Recommended minimum of 3 years of experience in safety on commercial construction projects.
• Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) certification designation is suggested.
• Valid Driver’s License is required.
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
• Computer software - Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel based templates, Prolog, Primavera and AutoDesk Suite.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with stakeholders including project owners, insurance carriers, Hensel Phelps staff, and trade partners.
• Attend owner meetings with safety representatives as necessary.
• Enhance safety culture through participation in safety charrettes and CARES committee.
• Assist project team with safety start-up, program development, and management.
• Create and manage the project safety budget.
