Job summary

Big-D Construction's Industrial group in Miami, AZ is seeking a Safety Professional to bring safety and risk expertise to personnel, vendors, and subcontractors on a single jobsite. The role focuses on implementing zero-harm programs, conducting inspections, and leading safety training, with required OSHA 30 and MSHA trainings, and CSP/ASP/CHST desirable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred or 1-3 years construction safety experience.
• OSHA 30 hour training required; OSHA outreach instructor (OSHA 500) preferred
• MSHA 24 hour training; MSHA Blue Card Instructor a plus
• Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associated Safety Professional (ASP), CHST or other safety certifications desirable
• Valid Driver’s License with a good driving record

Responsibilities

• Works on a specific jobsite with safety team and leadership to create a zero harm culture.
• Monitors job site activity for inspections and administrative tasks.
• Documents site conditions focusing on safety via photos and written reports.
• Reviews site safety conditions and helps develop improvement plans with project leadership; documents information.
• Conducts safety training meetings for project concerns; provides detailed reports to site team and safety director.
• Attends and participates in safety training meetings; supports safety program delivery.
• Reviews safety infractions and improvements with site management; documents progress electronically.
• Responds to safety concerns and incidents and assists in investigations and root cause analysis.
• Assists in compiling job activity hazard analysis data.
• Ensures compliance with federal, state and company safety standards on all jobsites.
• Regular, timely, and predictable attendance is required.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
