Job summary

Big-D Construction is seeking a Safety Coordinator to join our team of construction professionals. Based at our cross-site locations, you will work with the safety team to establish a zero-harm culture, monitor inspections, document site safety conditions, and develop improvement plans with project leadership.

You will conduct safety training, review incidents, and assist with root cause analyses and hazard assessments while ensuring compliance with federal and company safety standards.

Qualifications

• OSHA 30-hour training required.
• OSHA outreach instructor (OSHA 500) preferred.
• Certified Safety Professional (CSP), ASP, CHST or similar certifications desirable.
• Valid Driver's License with a good driving record.
• Willingness to travel is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Works on a specific jobsite with safety team and leadership to create a zero-harm culture.
• Monitors job site activity for inspections and administrative tasks.
• Documents site conditions focusing on safety items with photos and reports.
• Reviews site safety conditions and helps develop improvement plans with project leadership.
• Conducts safety training meetings and provides detailed reports to site team and corporate safety director.
• Holds specialty training as required and leads monthly safety training meetings.
• Reviews infractions and improvements with site management and documents progress electronically.
• Responds to safety concerns and incidents and assists in investigations and root-cause analyses.
• Assists in compiling information for job activity hazard analyses and ensures compliance with standards.
• Maintains regular, timely attendance and performs other duties as assigned.
