Job summary

Turner Construction Company is seeking a Safety Training Specialist to educate and enforce EH&S programs for the project team and subcontractors. You will promote safe work practices, conduct pre-task planning, and ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations.

The role requires a Bachelor's in OSH/Engineering, CHST certification, and OSHA 30-hour training, with strong leadership and communication skills. Some travel may be required on large projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of related construction safety experience or equivalent.
• CHST certification within two years of appointment.

Responsibilities

• Provide training on EH&S programs, policies, and procedures to project teams and Turner Trade employees.
• Promote safe work practices and ensure compliance with regulations and owner requirements.
• Build relationships with project teams and subcontractor Safety representatives.
• Contribute to development of the overall project safety program and enforce policies.
• Review subcontractor safety programs for compliance and conduct risk reviews.
• Hold pre-construction planning meetings to review site safety and job hazard analyses.
• Coordinate Preconstruction meetings and safety training per OSHA standards.
• Create safety reports, analyze metrics, and recommend improvements.
