Job summary

Southland Industries is seeking a motivated candidate to join our Occupational Health & Safety program for the Design/Build HVAC, Plumbing and Fire Protection sectors. The intern will assist the Safety Manager in enforcing safety procedures to meet field and facility requirements and to coordinate division safety activities and construction processes.

You will help implement and distribute safety programs, maintain MSDS records, and support training and mentoring of field personnel, while

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Ensure all tasks on project sites are performed safely per company policies and OSHA standards.
• Assist in implementing and distributing safety programs and tailgate meetings.
• Distribute certification cards for industrial equipment training and maintain records.
• Report and manage company vehicle claims and assist in workers' compensation reporting.
• Update MSDS manual and assemble safety manuals for distribution.
• Maintain records of signed tailgate meeting forms.
• Grow and support a culture of safety across field operations.
