Job summary

H.J. Martin and Son seeks a Construction Safety Specialist to lead on-site safety programs, collaborate with the Director of Safety and project teams, and ensure compliance with corporate and construction safety standards.

The role emphasizes training, documentation, site inspections, incident investigations, and fostering a proactive safety culture across residential and commercial projects. Daily travel to job sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Occupational Safety degree preferred, but not required.
• Field construction experience preferred.
• Ability to travel daily for an undetermined amount of time.
• Proficiency in using Adobe Acrobat, Foxit and Microsoft Office: Word and Outlook.
• Strong written and excellent verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety program development and ensure compliance with standards.
• Develop and implement health and safety plans in the workplace.
• Perform job site safety inspections and address hazards.
• Investigate accidents or incidents with General Contractor.
• Provide OSHA training when appropriate.
• Coordinate with project management and supervisors on safety methods.
