Job summary

Sterling Construction Company, Inc. in Lubbock, TX seeks a Junior Safety Coordinator to help maintain the divisional Safety and Health Program and ensure compliance with corporate requirements.

You will report safety data, support site evaluations, and help train employees, with past construction exposure preferred. This role is well-suited for students pursuing a degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field.

Qualifications

• Junior or Senior (highly preferred)
• Minimum GPA 2.75
• Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related degree.
• Past construction work experience is preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Maintaining divisional Safety and Health Program that meets or exceeds corporate minimum requirements
• Ensure timely reporting of statistical data to corporate
• Create, communicate, enforce and identify opportunities for improvements in Corporate Safety Program
• Maintaining all administrative tasks related to project specific safety documentation/filing systems, etc.
• Assist in conducting regularly scheduled site evaluations, follow up and tracking of corrections to deficiencies
• Enforce documentation on the proper training of employees as related to their scope of work

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related degree
