Job summary

Ryan Companies US, Inc. is seeking a Safety Engineer Intern for Summer 2027 at our Lubbock, TX site. This full-time internship for undergraduates runs May–August, focusing on construction safety and field operations.

You will assist the Safety Manager, review subcontractor safety submittals, conduct site audits, and provide training to craft workers, helping to foster a proactive safety culture on our Mission Critical sites.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in occupational safety and health, safety management, or construction safety.
• Child and safety knowledge at field sites is required.
• Ability to work on-site at a construction location.

Responsibilities

• Assist Safety Manager with implementing the Ryan Safety Program.
• Support field operations and review subcontractor safety submittals.
• Conduct site safety audits and document findings.
• Provide safety training to craft workers on procedures.
• Review procedures with foremen and promote a strong safety culture.
• Coordinate communication of safety information with all levels of staff.
• Spend majority of time (70–80%) at field site, remainder in office.
