Job summary

Balfour Beatty US is seeking a Safety Health & Environment Coordinator to join our Stafford, VA project team. This role serves as the primary loss prevention support, liaising between the jobsite and the SH&E Director to ensure safety SOPs are followed and all safety program documentation is accurate and up to date.

The ideal candidate will have a BS in Safety & Environmental Health, 2–4 years of safety experience in construction, OSHA 30, and proficiency with PC and Microsoft Office tools.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Safety & Environmental Health or related field preferred and 2 to 4 years of safety experience.
• Demonstrates accurate record keeping skills.
• OSHA 30 required.
• 1 year of direct or indirect supervisor experience.
• Proficient with a PC and Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Organizes and maintains Loss Prevention records and reports.
• Trains employees on safety policies and hazards on the project.
• Requisitions safety, first aid and fire prevention equipment and ensures it is maintained.
• Conducts daily job site inspections.
• Reports unsafe acts or conditions to the Superintendent or Project Manager and follows up to ensure corrective actions.
