Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Project Safety Engineer to lead construction safety initiatives on mission-critical projects. You will own field safety programs, conduct risk assessments, and collaborate with project leadership, subcontractors, and craft personnel to ensure a safe, compliant jobsite.

The role focuses on hazard identification, JHA/AHA development, training delivery, and stop-work authority to maintain safe operations across industrial, commercial, and heavy civil environments.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of construction safety experience.
• CHST is required.
• Experience in industrial, commercial, heavy civil, energy, manufacturing, or infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA 1926 Construction Standards.
• Working knowledge of OSHA 1910 General Industry Standards.
• Experience conducting site safety inspections, audits, hazard identification, and risk assessments.
• Experience developing/reviewing JHAs and AHAs.
• Hands-on knowledge of high-risk construction activities (fall protection, excavation, confined spaces, LOTO, electrical, crane/rigging).
• Incident/near-miss investigations and root cause analysis experience.
• Ability to manage subcontractor safety compliance.
• Experience delivering safety training, orientations, and toolbox talks.
• ASP / CSPO, HSTOSHA 500/510, First Aid/CPR Instructor certification.
• Safety software experience and KPI tracking.
• Experience with permit-to-work systems.
• Strong coaching, presentation, and field leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain project-specific safety and health programs.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, client, and company safety requirements.
• Conduct field inspections, audits, safety observations, and risk assessments.
• Develop and review JHAs and AHAs.
• Monitor high-risk construction work including fall protection, excavation, confined spaces, electrical work, and crane/rigging operations.
• Identify hazards and drive corrective actions through completion.
• Lead incident, injury, near-miss, and property-damage investigations.
• Perform root cause analyses and establish preventive measures.
• Conduct orientations, safety training, toolbox talks, and coaching.
• Partner with project management, field supervisors, craft personnel, and subcontractors.
• Manage subcontractor safety performance and compliance.
• Exercise stop-work authority for imminent-danger conditions.
• Coordinate emergency response plans and drills.
• Maintain safety documentation, reports, metrics, and compliance records.
• Participate in pre-job planning and constructability reviews.
• Serve as the project SME for construction safety and promote a proactive safety culture.
