Job summary

McCarl's is seeking a Safety Director to lead safety strategy and field execution across projects and regions. This senior role combines program leadership with hands-on site presence, coaching safety professionals, project teams, and operations leadership to elevate risk controls and compliance.

You will drive policy development, regulatory compliance, incident investigation, training, and continuous improvement while translating safety into measurable business value.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
• Professional certification such as CSP, CHST, ASP, or OHST preferred.
• OSHA 30-hour Construction certification required; OSHA 500/510 preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of construction safety experience with multi-site oversight.
• Excellent communication, presentation, coaching, and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness and ability to travel regularly.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and improvement of safety policies, procedures, and programs.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and technical guidance to safety personnel and site teams.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and client safety/environmental requirements.
• Oversee inspections, audits, and corrective action processes.
• Develop site-specific safety plans and incident response plans.
• Lead investigations and root cause analyses of significant events.
