Job summary

Turner Construction Company in Philadelphia seeks an Environmental Health & Safety support professional to assist with enforcing safety policies on construction projects. You will help identify hazards, support risk management, and promote safe work practices across trades.

Responsibilities include training, reviewing subcontractor safety programs for compliance, and supporting incident reporting, audits, and safety meetings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Safety/Engineering or related field and minimum 1 year of safety experience on construction projects.
• Basic knowledge of safety/environmental principles and OSHA regulations.
• Familiar with Federal, State, and local Environmental Health & Safety regulations.
• Familiar with general construction operations.
• Ability to identify safety-related exposures and propose corrective actions.
• Demonstrate leadership, teamwork and interpersonal skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to take direction and follow through with commitments.
• Excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail.
• Analytical thinking, good judgment, and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work in non-structured environments and re-prioritize with management direction.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and data entry tools.
• Limited travel may be required; access to reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Assist with enforcement and adherence of EH&S policies and risk management on construction projects.
• Support training for safe work practices and project safety programs.
• Review subcontractor safety programs for compliance with regulations and owner requirements.
• Assist with reviewing subcontractors training per OSHA standards.
• Promote safe work practices and conditions per regulations and contractual requirements.
• Assist with administration of pre-employment and other safety-related screenings.
• Coordinate preconstruction meetings and worker orientation sessions.
• Assist with gathering PTAs and JHAs as required by contract.
• Maintain safety records (PTPs, JHAs, training, OSHA 300 log, MSDS)
• ConductSafety meetings and prepare minutes; maintain subcontractor toolbox talks.
