Job summary

Findorff & Son Inc. is seeking a Safety Co-op for the Spring/Summer term in Madison, Wisconsin.

You’ll work with the Safety Team to promote a culture of safety across active jobsites and offices, gaining hands-on experience in safety initiatives, regulatory requirements, and risk management. The role targets students pursuing safety-related degrees or with relevant experience, offering exposure to OSHA regulations and safety standards while developing communication and leadership skills on

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Construction Management, Environmental Health & Safety, Risk Management, or related field or relevant experience.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Strong observational and problem-solving abilities.
• Interest in building a career in construction safety and risk management.

Responsibilities

• Assist with jobsite inspections, safety observations, audits, and documentation to help maintain a safe work environment.
• Attend toolbox talks, pre-task planning meetings, and safety committee discussions.
• Support investigation, documentation, and tracking of incidents, near misses, and corrective actions.
• Help develop and distribute safety communications, training materials, and educational resources.
• Gain exposure to OSHA regulations, company safety standards, and industry best practices while assisting with compliance activities.
• Develop communication, problem-solving, leadership, and observation skills while collaborating with project teams.
