Job summary

Kokosing, Inc. is seeking a Safety Co-op to support project teams in promoting a safe work environment across multiple sites. You will work with experienced safety professionals and operations leaders on regulatory compliance, hazard recognition, training and incident prevention.

The role offers exposure to construction safety practices and the chance to contribute to site-specific safety plans, training records, and safety communications while pursuing a degree in OSH or a related field.

Qualifications

• Pursuing associate or bachelor's degree in OSH, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
• Freshman–Senior standing eligible; previous construction/safety experience beneficial but not required.
• Interest in workplace safety and continuous learning preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with implementing safety policies and procedures.
• Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and pre-task planning.
• Conduct jobsite walkthroughs to identify hazards and opportunities for improvement.
• Document safety inspections, observations, audits, and corrective actions.
• Support development of project safety plans and training records.
• Prepare safety communications and educational materials.
• Assist with incident reporting and investigations while learning root-cause analysis.
• Collaborate with project teams to promote a positive safety culture.
