Kokosing is seeking a Safety Co-op to gain hands-on experience supporting project teams in promoting a safe work environment. You will work with safety professionals and operations leaders on construction safety practices, compliance, hazard recognition, training, and incident prevention.

The role targets students pursuing degrees in Occupational Safety and Health, Construction Management, or related fields, with opportunities across Indiana, Missouri, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, West

Qualifications

• Student pursuing a relevant safety or engineering degree; all levels eligible.
• Exposure to construction safety practices and regulatory compliance preferred.
• Interest in workplace safety and continuous learning strongly preferred.

Responsabilités

• Assist Safety Specialists and project teams with implementing safety policies.
• Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and pre-task planning.
• Conduct jobsite walkthroughs to identify hazards and improvement opportunities.
• Help document safety inspections, observations, audits, and corrective actions.
• Support development of project safety plans and training records.
• Assist with safety communications and project updates.
• Observe field operations and how safety requirements apply to construction and plant activities.
• Assist with incident reporting and investigations while learning root cause analysis.
• Support onboarding activities related to safety requirements.
• Collaborate with project teams to promote a positive safety culture.
• Maintain records and aid data collection on safety performance and compliance.
• Complete special projects and other duties as assigned.
