Job summary

You will mentor 4-5 Project Accountants, partner with Project Managers, and drive month-end close, reporting, and audits. Strong ERP and CPA credentials are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA or CPA candidate strongly preferred.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience, with exposure to construction/project-based revenue recognition.

Responsibilities

• Own the month-end and quarter-end revenue recognition process for construction projects, compliant with ASC 606/POC.
• Partner with Project Managers to review budgets, estimated costs to complete, and billing schedules for accurate revenue/margins.
• Lead forecasting of job costs across active projects and update estimates-to-complete.
• Mentor a team of 4-5 Project Accountants.
• Prepare and analyze WIP schedules and reconcile to GL.
• Review and approve project-level revenue entries, change orders, and contract modifications.
• Monitor project profitability and variances impacting results.
• Coordinate invoicing with contractual terms and recognized revenue.
• Support month-end close, including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Prepare audit schedules and assist external auditors during reviews.
• Develop and enhance internal controls for revenue recognition and project accounting.
• Identify opportunities to improve revenue reporting and cross-functional communication.
• Provide ad hoc financial analysis and training to staff.
