Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance or related field.
• 5+ years of construction accounting experience (required).
• Strong knowledge of job costing, WIP schedules, and project-based accounting.
• Hands-on experience with revenue recognition and project billing.
• Experience with sales and use tax compliance.
• Proficiency in ERP/accounting systems (e.g., Sage, Viewpoint, or similar).
• Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical abilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage project setup in the accounting system with accurate cost structures and contract alignment.
• Perform ongoing job costing and cost tracking; analyze variances and support profitability.
• Oversee project billing, including progress billing, T&M, and change order billing.
• Support revenue recognition processes in accordance with GAAP/ASC 606.
• Develop and maintain cash flow forecasts for assigned projects.
• Monitor project risks and work with teams to mitigate financial exposure.
• Review and reconcile project budgets vs. actuals.
• Collaborate with project managers on financial performance and reporting.
• Assist in sales and use tax filings and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Support audits and provide documentation related to project financials.
• Drive process improvements and ensure internal controls.
