Job summary

Confidential Jobs in the United States is seeking a senior revenue accounting professional to own end-to-end ASC 606 revenue recognition for construction projects. You will collaborate with Project Managers on budgets, costs-to-complete, and billing, ensuring accurate revenue and margin reporting.

You will lead a team of Project Accountants, review WIP schedules, approve revenue entries, monitor profitability, and support month-end close and audits. Strong Excel and ERP experience is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience with construction/project-based revenue recognition.
• 2-3+ years of supervising/managing experience.
• Strong working knowledge of percentage-of-completion accounting and ASC 606.
• Experience preparing and analyzing WIP schedules.
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, financial modeling).
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Experience forecasting job costs and estimates-to-complete on active projects.
• Ability to collaborate with Project Accountants teams.
• Ability to work in-office full time.

Responsibilities

• Own the month-end and quarter-end revenue recognition process for construction projects.
• Partner with Project Managers to review budgets, costs to complete, and billing schedules.
• Lead forecasting of job costs and estimates-to-complete, identify cost trends.
• Manage Project Accountants for accurate job cost tracking and revenue entries.
• Prepare and analyze WIP schedules and reconcile to the general ledger.
• Review and approve project-level revenue entries, change orders, and contract modifications.
• Monitor project profitability and flag variances, cost overruns, or schedule delays.
• Collaborate with the billing/PA team to align invoicing with contract terms and revenue recognized.
• Support the Financial Controller in month-end close and variance analysis.
• Assist with revenue-related audit schedules and external audits.
• Develop and maintain internal controls and documentation related to revenue recognition.
