Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a Construction Quality Manager II to lead the QC program on large/multi-phase projects in heavy civil, industrial, or federal work under USACE/NAVFAC standards. You will write the project QC plan, chair three-phase control meetings, and own test results and NCRs with field inspectors reporting to you.

You will supervise QC inspectors, coordinate lab testing and certifications, and drive corrective actions.

Qualifications

6+ years in construction quality control or special inspection.
2+ years supervising inspectors.
USACE CQM-C certificate plus ICC Special Inspector or NICET Level III certification.
Experience on USACE, NAVFAC, DOT, or industrial owner programs.
Writes clearly and holds the line in a room of superintendents and owner representatives.

Responsibilities

Write and maintain the project quality control plan and get it accepted by the owner or agency.
Lead preparatory, initial, and follow-up phase meetings for every definable feature of work.
Supervise QC inspectors and testing technicians.
Assign daily coverage and review their reports.
Run the nonconformance and corrective-action process and present it in owner QA/QC meetings.
Coordinate laboratory testing, mix design approvals, and material certifications across subcontractors.
