Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a Quality Manager I to own the project quality program on a single site, from maintaining the inspection and test plan to witnessing tests and closing nonconformances.

This is the first management seat for a field inspector or technician who already understands what a failing test looks like and wants to own the program rather than a single test. Sponsored training leads toward the next step as Quality Manager II.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in construction materials testing, special inspection, or contractor QC.
• At least one: ACI Grade I, NICET Level II, ICC special inspector, or USACE CQM-C certificate (sponsorship available).
• Able to read specifications and drawings and translate to a test schedule.
• Direct, organized, and able to tell a superintendent that a lift does not pass.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the project inspection and test plan (ITP) and testing frequency log against the specifications.
• Schedule and witness field and laboratory tests; verify certifications of technicians.
• Write the daily quality control report and three-phase meeting records (preparatory, initial, follow-up).
• Open, track, and close nonconformance reports with the superintendent and the engineer of record.
• Keep submittal, mix design, and material certification files audit-ready.
