Job summary

Hoffman Construction Co of America seeks a Purchasing Agent to join our Portland Main Office. You will work with project teams to buy out work, build trade contractor relationships, issue and manage RFPs, negotiate scopes, and draft contracts for bidders.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, a bachelor's degree in a construction-related field or business administration, or equivalent experience, and at least two years of purchasing experience; it is an in-office role in Portland,

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor's degree in construction-related field, business administration, or equivalent, or equivalent work experience.
• At least two years of purchasing experience preferred, including understanding of Washington GC/CM bidding requirements.

Responsibilities

• Draft and issue RFP packages for construction procurement.
• Participate in pre-bid and post-bid meetings.
• Manage bid package process, including advertising, issuing addenda, and managing bids.
• Receive and compare bids for cost and scope.
• Draft and issue subcontracts, purchase agreements, and purchase orders.
• Attend and support local outreach in the subcontracting community.
• Provide internal support to project teams and operations.
• Respond to subcontractor inquiries.
• Maintain subcontractor and project information records.
