Job summary

First America Homes, the homebuilding division of The Signorelli Company, is seeking a Purchasing Coordinator to support construction teams across Houston-area communities from The Woodlands, TX. Responsibilities include generating and updating purchase orders, processing payroll invoices, and maintaining PO records.

You will collaborate with construction managers and estimators to forecast material needs, monitor costs, and ensure timely deliveries while upholding quality standards.

Qualifications

• Purchasing experience for a home builder preferred.
• Familiarity with the Newstar operating system is a plus.
• Strong purchasing and accounts payable terminology knowledge for home building.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Outlook.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• High attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
• Thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Team-oriented mindset.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage the purchasing process for new home starts in communities throughout the greater Houston area.
• Generate purchase orders for new home builds and any associated selection updates.
• Collaborate with construction managers, estimators, and other team members to anticipate material needs and adjust purchase schedules to ensure alignment with project timelines.
• Approve and send out variance purchase orders promptly.
• Update new home start details in the Newstar operating system.
• Maintain accurate records of all purchase orders, invoices, and deliveries, while preparing regular reports on purchasing activities, cost savings, and inventory levels.
• Assist with updating purchase orders and entering specific payroll invoices into the system.
• Monitor material costs, identifying opportunities to reduce costs while maintaining quality standards.
• Coordinate stage moves as directed by the construction managers.
• Provide support for various ad hoc purchasing duties as needed.
