Job summary

S. B. Ballard Construction Company is seeking experienced Proposal Writers to join our team in Virginia Beach, VA.

You will develop tailored proposals in response to RFPs/RFQs, collaborating with experts and leadership to gather content and craft persuasive narratives for government contracts. You will ensure consistency in tone and branding, manage multiple projects under tight deadlines, and partner with the design team on visuals.

Qualifications

• Proven experience writing winning proposals, preferably in construction for federal, state, and local government contracts.
• Exceptional writing, editing, and communication skills.
• Ability to synthesize diverse inputs into a cohesive and compelling narrative.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Proficiency with proposal management tools, Microsoft Office, and Excel.
• Must reside within commuting distance of S. B. Ballard’s main office in Virginia Beach, VA.
• Construction or Engineering: 4 years (Preferred)
• Proposal writing: 4 years (Preferred)
• PowerPoint: 4 years (Preferred)
• SharePoint: 4 years (Preferred)

Responsibilities
