Job summary

Qualifications

• Progressive experience in business development or project acquisition.
• Experience with Design-Bid-Build, CM-at-Risk, PPEA and Design-Build delivery methods.
• Strong knowledge of construction markets such as multi-family, government, healthcare, education, life sciences, and commercial.
• Proven ability to lead pursuits, develop proposals, and build client relationships.
• Excellent writing, presentation, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Proactively identify, develop, and maintain relationships with clients, industry partners, and small/disadvantaged businesses.
• Represent SBBCC at industry events, pre-bid meetings, and community functions.
• Collaborate with estimating, preconstruction, and operations teams to support pursuit strategies.
• Maintain opportunity/pursuit logs and provide feedback on won/lost opportunities to strengthen future pursuits.
• Lead project pursuit efforts including RFQs, RFPs, interviews, and client presentations.
• Ensure pursuit responses are complete, timely, accurate, and aligned with client expectations.
• Research prospective clients and market sectors; translate findings into pursuit strategies.
• Develop clear, persuasive messaging for proposals, presentations, and marketing collateral.
