Job summary

Harris is offering a Summer 2027 Project Manager Intern internship to provide college students with on-the-job experience in the construction process. You will turn classroom lessons into real-life skills through hands-on opportunities across project activities.

During the internship you will experience all phases from pre-job estimating and permits to purchasing, submittals, RFIs, safety, and closeout documentation including O&M manuals and warranties.

Qualifications

• Must be a current student pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Demonstrated math and analytical skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in Pre-Job activities: estimating, permits, contracts, and insurance certificates.
• During Construction: safety, purchasing, submittals, tracking materials & equipment, productivity tracking, RFIs.
• Job Closeout: project closeout, O&M manuals, as-record drawings and warranties.

Your role as a Project Manager Intern

Our mission is to provide college students with on the job experience and knowledge of the construction process. As a Project Manager intern you will be given hands on opportunities to turn classroom lessons into real life skills in the construction industry.

Internship experience

Throughout the internship, you will have exposure to all aspects of a project, start to finish, including the following:

• Pre-Job: Estimating, Job Setup, Job contracts, Permits and insurance certificates
• During Construction: Safety, Purchasing, Submittals, Tracking materials & equipment, Productivity tracking, Change orders and tracking RFIs
• Job Closeout: Project closeout, O&M manuals, As-recording drawings and warranties

What we're looking for in you

• Must be a current student working toward degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
• Strong interest in pursuing a career in the construction industry and project management
• Ability to read and comprehend construction documents
• Demonstrated proficiency of math and analytical skills
• Must have strong interpersonal skills with good verbal and written communication while working in a team environment

Pay Range: $21.37 - $32.05. The actual salary offer will vary by candidate based on a wide range of factors such as specific skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
