Job summary

Harris Rochester, Inc. is seeking a Project Manager Intern for Summer 2027 to gain on-the-job experience in the construction industry.

You will turn classroom lessons into real-life skills and be involved in pre-job estimating, contracts, permits, safety, material tracking, and project closeout. You will read construction documents, apply math and analytical thinking, and develop strong interpersonal and written communication skills while collaborating with field personnel and project teams.

Qualifications

• Be a current student pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Strong math and analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and work well in a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Pre-Job estimating and contracts.
• Support permits, insurance certificates and safety processes.
• Track materials, equipment and field personnel; assist with productivity.
• Assist with change order submittals and tracking.
• Support project closeout and creation of O&M manuals.

Your role as a Project Manager Intern

Our mission is to provide college students with on the job experience and knowledge of the construction process.

As a Project Manager intern you will be given hands on opportunities to turn classroom lessons into real life skills in the construction industry.

Throughout the internship, you will have expose to all aspects of a project, start to finish, including the following:

• Pre-Job: Estimating
• Pre-Job: Job contracts
• Pre-Job: Permits and insurance certificates
• During Construction: Safety
• During Construction: Purchasing Submittals
• During Construction: Tracking materials & equipment
• During Construction: Field personnel tracking
• During Construction: Productivity tracking
• During Construction: Change order submittals and tracking
• Job Closeout: Project closeout
• Job Closeout: O&M manuals
• Job Closeout: As-recording drawings warranties

What we're looking for in you

• Must be a current student working toward degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
• Strong interest in pursuing a career in the construction industry and project management
• Ability to read and comprehend construction documents
• Demonstrated proficiency of math and analytical skills
• Must have strong interpersonal skills with good verbal and written communication while working in a team environment

Pay Range: $18.45 - $27.68 The actual salary offer will vary by candidate based on a wide range of factors such as specific skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
