Job summary

Harris in Columbus, OH is seeking a Project Manager intern for Summer 2027 to gain hands-on experience in construction management. As an intern you will assist with pre-job tasks, during-construction activities, and closeout deliverables while learning to read construction documents, analyze costs, and work with a project team to track progress and ensure safety and quality.

Strong communication and teamwork are essential as you collaborate with estimators, superintendents, and field staff

Qualifications

• Must be a current student pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Strong interest in pursuing a career in construction management.
• Ability to read and comprehend construction documents.
• Demonstrated proficiency of math and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Pre-Job: assist with estimating, job setup, contracts, permits, and insurance certificates.
• During Construction: support safety, purchasing, submittals, tracking materials & equipment, and change orders.
• Closeout: assist with project closeout manuals, as-recording drawings, and warranties.

Our mission is to provide college students with on the job experience and knowledge of the construction process. As a Project Manager intern you will be given hands on opportunities to turn classroom lessons into real life skills in the construction industry.

What We're Looking For In You

• Must be a current student working toward degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field

• Demonstrated proficiency of math and analytical skills
• Must have strong interpersonal skills with good verbal and written communication while working in a team environment

Pay Range

$21.37 - $32.05

The actual salary offer will vary by candidate based on a wide range of factors such as specific skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
