Job summary

Harris is seeking a Construction Project Manager Intern for Summer 2027 in the United States. The role offers hands-on exposure across estimating, setup, permits, safety, purchasing, submittals, tracking, and closeout processes within construction projects.

You will work with a team to read construction documents, analyze data, and develop skills in project management while supporting project lifecycle activities from pre-job to closeout.

Qualifications

• Must be a current student pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Strong interest in pursuing a career in construction project management.
• Ability to read and comprehend construction documents; solid math and analytical skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication within a team.

Responsibilities

• Pre-Job: assist with estimating, job setup, contracts, permits and insurance certificates.
• During Construction: support safety, purchasing, submittals, tracking materials and equipment, productivity, change orders, and RFIs.
• Job Closeout: assist with OM manuals, as-record drawings, and warranties.

Your role as a Construction Project Manager Intern

Our mission is to provide college students with on the job experience and knowledge of the construction process. As a Project Manager intern you will be given hands on opportunities to turn classroom lessons into real life skills in the construction industry.

Throughout the internship, you will have expose to all aspects of a project, start to finish, including the following:

Pre-Job:

• Estimating
• Job Setup
• Job contracts
• Permits and insurance certificates

During Construction:

• Safety
• Purchasing
• Submittals
• Tracking materials & equipment
• Productivity tracking
• Change orders and tracking
• RFIs

Job Closeout:

• Project closeout O&M manuals
• As-recording drawings and warranties

What we're looking for in you

• Must be a current student working toward degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
• Strong interest in pursuing a career in the construction industry and project management
• Ability to read and comprehend construction documents
• Demonstrated proficiency of math and analytical skills
• Must have strong interpersonal skills with good verbal and written communication while working in a team environment

Pay Range: $21.37 - $32.05

The actual salary offer will vary by candidate based on a wide range of factors such as specific skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
