Job summary

Ahold Delhaize USA, a division of a global food retailer, seeks a Project Manager I to oversee new store, expansion and remodel projects from pre-construction through warranty close-out. Role requires 80% travel and residency in NC/SC/VA; you will coordinate bids, contracts, budgets, schedules and field execution to ensure timely openings.

Bachelor's degree and 5–7 years of construction experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree; Preferred in Construction Management or Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 5-7 years of experience in the construction industry.
• Knowledge of architectural designs/engineering concepts and processes.
• Ability to lead projects through influence and drive accountability across stakeholders.
• Practical construction technology and methods.
• Develop, manage, and execute complex phased planning and construction schedules.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Ability to travel weekly.

Responsibilities

• Manage bidding and awarding processes with GC/CM and suppliers for Food Lion-contracted projects.
• Prepare bid documents and RFQ packages.
• Manage contract, purchase orders, processing, and invoices.
• Oversee the Construction Change Authorization/Change Order process.
• Review redlines on ARCH/MEP plans for accuracy and conformance to standards.
• Provide value engineering feedback.
• Plan and monitor project milestones and schedules.
• Coordinate with Purchasing, Refrigeration, Real Estate, Preconstruction / A&E, Operations and other stakeholders.
• Ensure safety and quality standards; promote a safe working environment.
• Lead weekly project construction and operations meetings.
• Monitor progress and address schedule risks.
• Manage multiple projects across geographic area.
• Post project closeout and asset disposition.
