Job summary

Mortenson is seeking a Project Manager I/II to lead project quality, schedule, and safety while mentoring the team in Amarillo, TX. You will manage finances, coordinate subcontractors, and maintain strong owner relationships through exceptional service.

Two levels available, with base pay ranges reflecting experience and office location. Travel up to 100% is required, and you will partner with field and office teams to deliver projects safely and on time.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering or Construction Management, or equivalent experience.
• Driver's license required.
• Ability to travel up to 100%.
• Proven ability to fulfill all responsibilities for complex projects.
• Detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Basic understanding of construction law and business practices.
• Intermediate MS Office, project, and web apps.
• Ability to interpret Mortenson policies.
• Active listening and effective communication.

Responsibilities

• Manage overall financial health of projects including subcontracts and suppliers.
• Develop and maintain project financial projections and allocate project estimate into financial system.
• Determine cost codes, approve invoices, and provide financials and billings to Accounting for timely payment.
• Create monthly owner billings and handle billings and contract management including contract buyouts.
• Oversee budget and select trade partners and suppliers.
• Lead/Manage Assistant Project Manager(s) and Project Engineer(s) and mentor career development.
• Approve timecards for on-site team members and provide feedback.
• Serve as main contact with owner and on-site rep; review owner agreement and resolve site concerns.
• Execute/Manage change orders and obtain approvals.
• Maintain schedule and budget; manage quality, risk, safety, and compliance; build diverse relationships.
