Job summary

Just Construction is seeking a Senior Healthcare Construction Project Manager to own complex projects in Florida from preconstruction through completion. You will lead independently, manage client relationships, drive financial performance, and coordinate all stakeholders while upholding safety and healthcare standards.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years of PM experience on healthcare or complex commercial builds, strong leadership, and a track record of driving schedules, budgets, and contract

Qualifications

• 8+ years of construction project management experience.
• Strong healthcare, hospital, or complex commercial project experience.
• End-to-end project lifecycle knowledge from preconstruction to closeout.
• Ability to manage multiple complex projects independently.
• Solid contracts, budgeting, scheduling, and controls knowledge.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Procore, Microsoft Project, or similar tools.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
• AHCA experience is not required but desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects from preconstruction through closeout and turnover.
• Develop and manage schedules, budgets, procurement plans, and execution strategies.
• Maintain responsibility for financial performance, including cost control and forecasts.
• Manage client relationships with regular progress updates.
• Coordinate architects, engineers, consultants, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams.
• Oversee subcontractor procurement, performance, and contract administration.
• Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, pay apps, docs, and closeout.
• Monitor progress and address schedule, cost, quality, and staffing issues.
• Ensure compliance with codes, safety requirements, and healthcare standards.
• Coordinate design and construction activities to meet objectives.
• Resolve issues and conflicts quickly and effectively.
• Maintain accurate project documentation and change reviews.
• Lead turnover and closeout, exceeding client expectations.
• Mentor Project Engineers, Assistant PMs, and junior staff.

Just Construction is representing a well-established General Contractor with more than 20 years of experience delivering commercial and healthcare construction projects throughout Florida.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Healthcare Construction Project Manager to take ownership of complex projects from preconstruction through completion. This is a senior-level, autonomous position for a Project Manager who can lead projects independently, manage client relationships, drive financial performance, and coordinate all project stakeholders while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and execution.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects from preconstruction through closeout and final turnover.
• Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, procurement plans, and overall execution strategies.
• Maintain responsibility for project financial performance, including cost control, forecasting, change orders, and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
• Manage client relationships and provide regular updates on project progress, schedule, budget, and potential issues.
• Coordinate architects, engineers, consultants, subcontractors, vendors, and internal project teams.
• Oversee subcontractor procurement, performance, and contract administration.
• Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, pay applications, project documentation, and closeout requirements.
• Monitor project progress and proactively address schedule, cost, quality, and staffing issues.
• Ensure projects comply with applicable building codes, safety requirements, contractual obligations, and healthcare construction standards.
• Coordinate design and construction activities to ensure project objectives are met.
• Resolve project issues and conflicts quickly and effectively.
• Maintain accurate project documentation and ensure changes are properly reviewed and approved.
• Lead project turnover and closeout while ensuring client expectations are exceeded.
• Mentor and support Project Engineers, Assistant Project Managers, and other junior team members.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of construction Project Management experience.
• Strong experience managing healthcare, hospital, medical, or other complex commercial construction projects.
• Comprehensive understanding of the construction process from preconstruction through closeout.
• Proven ability to independently manage multiple complex projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction contracts, budgeting, scheduling, subcontractor management, and project controls.
• Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to make sound decisions and effectively manage issues in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with construction/project management software such as Procore, Microsoft Project, or similar platforms.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent construction experience will also be considered.
• AHCA experience is not required, but is highly desirable.
