About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Healthcare Construction Project Manager to take ownership of complex projects from preconstruction through completion. This is a senior-level, autonomous position for a Project Manager who can lead projects independently, manage client relationships, drive financial performance, and coordinate all project stakeholders while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and execution.
Responsibilities
- Lead projects from preconstruction through closeout and final turnover.
- Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, procurement plans, and overall execution strategies.
- Maintain responsibility for project financial performance, including cost control, forecasting, change orders, and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Manage client relationships and provide regular updates on project progress, schedule, budget, and potential issues.
- Coordinate architects, engineers, consultants, subcontractors, vendors, and internal project teams.
- Oversee subcontractor procurement, performance, and contract administration.
- Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, pay applications, project documentation, and closeout requirements.
- Monitor project progress and proactively address schedule, cost, quality, and staffing issues.
- Ensure projects comply with applicable building codes, safety requirements, contractual obligations, and healthcare construction standards.
- Coordinate design and construction activities to ensure project objectives are met.
- Resolve project issues and conflicts quickly and effectively.
- Maintain accurate project documentation and ensure changes are properly reviewed and approved.
- Lead project turnover and closeout while ensuring client expectations are exceeded.
- Mentor and support Project Engineers, Assistant Project Managers, and other junior team members.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of construction Project Management experience.
- Strong experience managing healthcare, hospital, medical, or other complex commercial construction projects.
- Comprehensive understanding of the construction process from preconstruction through closeout.
- Proven ability to independently manage multiple complex projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts, budgeting, scheduling, subcontractor management, and project controls.
- Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to make sound decisions and effectively manage issues in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with construction/project management software such as Procore, Microsoft Project, or similar platforms.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent construction experience will also be considered.
- AHCA experience is not required, but is highly desirable.
