Just Construction is working with a leading healthcare real estate and program management firm to identify an experienced Project Manager / Program Manager for their Jacksonville team. This is an excellent opportunity for a construction professional who wants to move into a more owner-side / program management focused position, working across healthcare construction projects and acting as a key representative between the client, design team, and General Contractor.
About the Role
The successful candidate will have a strong construction background and the ability to manage projects from pre-construction through completion while maintaining control of schedule, budget, quality, and overall project delivery.
Responsibilities
- Manage healthcare construction projects from pre-construction through closeout.
- Act as the primary point of contact between the owner, General Contractor, architects, engineers, consultants, and other project stakeholders.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, contracts, procurement, and overall project performance.
- Review and manage contractor schedules, change orders, RFIs, submittals, pay applications, and project documentation.
- Monitor project progress and ensure work is being delivered in accordance with approved plans, specifications, budget, and schedule.
- Lead project meetings and provide regular updates to clients and senior leadership.
- Identify and mitigate potential cost, schedule, quality, and construction risks.
- Review contractor estimates, proposals, scopes of work, and change orders.
- Coordinate with design teams throughout design development and construction documentation.
- Assist with contractor procurement, bid reviews, scope evaluations, and selection.
- Track project financials and provide accurate forecasting and reporting.
- Coordinate permitting, inspections, commissioning, turnover, and closeout activities.
- Manage multiple projects or workstreams as part of a broader healthcare capital program.
- Ensure projects are delivered with minimal disruption where construction is taking place within or around occupied healthcare environments.
- Maintain strong relationships with owners, contractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of construction project management experience.
- Strong commercial construction background.
- Healthcare construction experience strongly preferred.
- Experience managing projects from pre-construction through completion.
- Strong understanding of construction schedules, budgets, contracts, change orders, RFIs, submittals, and pay applications.
- Experience working with General Contractors, subcontractors, architects, and engineers.
- Strong client-facing and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
- Strong understanding of project financials and cost control.
- Proficiency with construction management software and Microsoft Office.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred.
