Job summary

Ascend Talent Solutions seeks a Construction Project Manager in San Francisco, CA to oversee complex commercial projects for a premier general contracting firm.

You'll lead a team of project professionals, manage bids, schedules, client relations, and financials, while mentoring assistants and engineers. The role emphasizes sales development, risk management, and delivering projects safely and on budget.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of construction experience including supervising/managing project staff.
  • Experience managing medium to large, complex, and/or multiple jobs at one time.
  • LEED accreditation preferred.
  • Demonstrated development of client relationships and sales/business development for new opportunities.
  • Ability to mentor colleagues and participate in annual staff reviews.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Project, Procore, Timberline, PlanGrid, and BlueBeam.
  • Strong project estimating and scheduling skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare bids, budgets, and respond to formal RFPs.
  • Participate in interviews to secure new work.
  • Lead pricing, value engineering, site selection investigations, and building assessments.
  • Create detailed project schedules in conjunction with superintendents.
  • Serve as the client point of contact.
  • Establish and maintain client, subcontractor, and industry relationships.
  • Oversee procurement, cost, and change management during the project.
  • Lead weekly project meetings with the client and subcontractors.
  • Manage the punch list and oversee project closeout.
  • Manage all aspects of project accounting, financial projections and reporting, and AR collections.
  • Attend client presentations, networking events, and industry functions as a company representative.

It specializes in tenant improvements and commercial renovation projects. It works with clients from the hospitality, commercial office, life sciences, and healthcare industries.

Job Description:

The Project Manager oversees complex commercial construction projects, heading a team of talented construction professionals to turn clients' visions into reality. The Project Manager will sell, estimate, schedule, manage, and oversee all aspects of their own construction projects, using their experience and leadership to drive each project to completion safely and efficiently. The Project Manager will also build and mentor a team of Assistant Project Managers, Project Engineers, and Project Coordinators, while establishing a book of business and forging relationships with clients, architects, construction managers, brokers, property managers, and subcontractors. Additional responsibilities for the Project Manager include the following:
