Sterling Search Partners is helping a client with its search for a Project Manager. The Project Manager is responsible for managing construction projects from pre-construction through completion. This position oversees project schedules, budgets, subcontractors, vendors, field operations, and client communication while ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and according to quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage construction projects from planning and estimating through final completion and closeout.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and timelines.
- Coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams.
- Review contracts, plans, specifications, drawings, and project requirements.
- Manage subcontractor procurement, contracts, scopes of work, and performance.
- Monitor project costs, change orders, commitments, and overall profitability.
- Review and approve invoices, pay applications, purchase orders, and project documentation.
- Conduct regular project meetings and communicate project status to stakeholders.
- Identify potential project risks and develop solutions to keep projects moving forward.
- Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, punch lists, and closeout documentation.
- Work closely with superintendents and field personnel to coordinate day-to-day construction activities.
- Ensure projects comply with applicable building codes, safety regulations, and company standards.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and other project partners.
- Monitor quality control and ensure work is completed according to plans and specifications.
- Prepare regular project updates, financial reports, and forecasts for company leadership.
- Assist with estimating, bidding, contract negotiations, and pre-construction activities as needed.
- Lead project closeout, including final inspections, warranties, as-builts, and turnover documentation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred.
- 5+ years of construction project management experience.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, contracts, scheduling, and project financials.
- Experience managing subcontractors and multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong knowledge of construction plans, specifications, and project documentation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management/project scheduling software.
- Strong communication, negotiation, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction documents.
- Ability to manage budgets, schedules, and competing priorities.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
