Job summary

Turner Construction Company in Philadelphia seeks an Intern/Co-Op to assist on active construction projects, gaining hands-on experience in project management, safety protocols, and coordination with subcontractors. You will support engineers and field staff, attend site visits, and apply classroom knowledge to real-world construction activities.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a college or university degree program, minimum 1 year completed.
• Must be 18 years of age to work on-site.
• Desire to learn and work in construction management.
• Strong communication in English.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Good organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Support project team with meeting coordination, material tracking, file management, and progress reporting.
• Follow project site signage and supervisor instructions.
• Provide progress reports to supervisor and learn construction management.
• Maintain professional relationships with employees, customers, clients, and subcontractors.
• Attend training, meetings, and orientation.
• Comply with safety protocols and PPE.
• Assist with start-up activities and support Project Engineer/Manager.
• Assist with RFIs, submittals, and shop drawings.
• Assist with preparation of estimates for changes in work.
• Attend site visits to observe field activities.
• Communicate with Architects/Engineers/vendors/subcontractors.
• Assist with monitoring safety program.
• Assist with quantity take-offs.
• Assist with subcontractor proposals.
• Assist with project close out.
