Job summary

ORION in Tampa, FL seeks a Project Engineer to plan, direct, and coordinate activities of designated projects, ensuring goals are met within time and funding constraints. The role requires flexibility for long shifts and weekends as project needs demand.

The incumbent must support safety, quality, delivery, teamwork, and integrity values while coordinating with PMs, superintendents, and subcontractors to manage budgets, schedules, and communications.

Qualifications

• BS Degree in Construction Management or related discipline and field experience in commercial concrete construction or equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year construction related experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with employees at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Assists in the preparation and planning of pre-job meetings (plans, budgets, scheduling, etc.).
• Assists Project Manager in the management of all assigned jobs.
• Reviews and processes shop drawings and submittals; checks for accuracy against drawings and specs.
• Distributes drawing revisions to PMs, Superintendents and subcontractors; requests new drawings as needed.
• Prices drawing revisions and field changes; updates logs accordingly.
• Maintains RCO and PM Submittal logs for each project.
• Keeps project schedules updated; documents delays.
• Orders and ensures timely delivery of materials (rebar, shoring, forming, PT).
• Contacts Superintendents; visits job sites to identify problems and propose solutions.
• Codes and approves invoices as requested by PM.
• Tracks manhours and job cost weekly.
• Meets with Superintendents to target cost to complete under budget.
• Assists with End of Month Financial Reports and project reports for management.
