Job summary

ORION is seeking a field construction leader to drive project execution for concrete projects. The role requires directing crews, planning methods, and ensuring safety, quality, and schedule adherence.

The incumbent will coordinate with general contractors and subcontractors, monitor costs, and participate in estimating and business development activities within their core competency. Flexibility for long hours and varying shifts is expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years' experience on concrete construction projects in supervisory capacity.
• Strong plan-reading and interpretation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple workstreams and communicate with varied stakeholders.
• Understanding of construction scheduling and cost control.
• Leadership, conflict resolution, and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide project leadership for field construction activities.
• Determine construction methods, sequencing, manpower levels, material quantities, and equipment needs.
• Train and develop foremen and create mentoring system for the crew.
• Manage day-to-day construction operations through assigned personnel.
• Create and maintain project schedules; forecast risk; identify delays early.
• Coordinate site logistics with GC, subcontractors, and PM.
• Ensure safety program compliance; conduct safety reviews and implement corrective measures.
• Assist Safety in incident investigations and follow-ups.
• Inspect work for adherence to drawings, specs, and quality standards.
• Assist PM with cost/schedule forecasts, pay requests, and change orders.
• Execute project closeout, punch lists, and turnover.
• Participate in business development/estimating activities within expertise.
• Oversee large, complex projects or multiple crews.
• Develop PEPs and mentor foremen.
• Manage staffing and field coordination independently.
• Communicate site problems and plan conflicts to PM and GC.
• Monitor equipment needs, utilization, and maintenance; ensure subcontractors meet schedules and quality.
