Job summary

Granite Construction Incorporated is seeking motivated interns to support construction engineering operations, offering hands-on experience, mentorship, and networking across its nationwide locations.

This entry-level role focuses on interpreting drawings for takeoffs, preparing documentation, supporting material delivery and scheduling, and helping with estimates and cost controls while developing essential data.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; pursuing a bachelor's degree.
• 0–2 years in construction estimating support, engineering, field support, or similar experience.

Responsibilities

• Interpret design/drawings for takeoffs and workforce for bidding and building construction projects.
• Prepare and distribute all required documentation such as status reports, punch lists, sketches, and material requirement calculations to supervisor.
• Provide technical support and direction regarding project materials meeting specifications, delivery dates and construction schedules.
• Assist with change orders and estimates by preparing drawings/sketches to support estimating and construction work.
• Develop job essential data including quantity take-offs and material pricing to ensure accurate estimates and bids.
• Maintain accurate records of quantities for work performed and materials installed for cost controls on construction projects.
